Sharing cheap but comfortable travel tips and short itineraries around the globe. Happy Reading!

Welcome fellow traveler or dear reader, I’m Rose.

In case you’re wondering what Faran means, below are two definitions.

·         Verb. faran. to go (used of long distances), to travel

·         Old English faran "to journey, set forth, go, travel, wander, make one's way,

I am a full time worker that work in the mines of Western Australia. I enjoy my job and travelling is a part time hobby. Unfortunately, my roaster is the usual working hours of weekdays (6-4) with weekends off so I hardly get time to indulge in travelling. With the limited annual leaves I get with limited time, I tend to squeeze in my holidays where I can and try to see most things in one visit when overseas. I spend usually a day or two in a city and move on to the next. For instance; I conquered Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo and Mt.Fuji in 7 days. I like to travel cheap but comfortable- I don’t work dull time for nothing ( but no way near luxurious).

The purpose of my blog is to share my cheap but comfortable travel tips as well as my short itineraries that helped me see the most of a city/ country. I don’t think I’ll stop travelling as there is something about travelling that resets my soul, body, and mind. I do not travel to go on vacation, I travel to indulge in meeting locals, learning the language and culture, experience the food, creating new memories and to become a great storyteller.

A little bit about me- I was born in the cold mountains of Goroka, Papua New Guinea and spent my childhood there but moved in my teenage years to a semi-arid desert called Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. My dad worked in the mines, so I’ve lived in Mining towns most of my life. Kalgoorlie is now home to me and my Husband with our 3 dogs.

One day I will plan to settle down (or travel with my kids) but until then, the world is at my doorstep and there’s more than 20 countries I still need to visit.

Hope we can cross paths soon and feel free to reach out if there is a place you recommend I visit.
